One of the things that Bert and ML want to do is visit all of the California Missions. These are not only historically noteworthy, but they are beautiful and tranquil in their own way. Some of them are like a little oasis of meditation in the middle of a big city; others are off the beaten track and lovely in their solitude (like Misson San Miguel Arcangel). We have been able to enjoy quite a few of them, and we still have quite a few more to see! Our personal favorite is the Carmel Mission, but Bert is pictured here in the garden of another little gem located just outside of Solvang, California. It's called Santa Inez Mission, and it was extra fun to go there because we were also able to enjoy the sights (and tastes!) of the cute Danish Village in Solvang.
